Safeguarding

The safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in tennis including players, parents, families, coaches, & volunteers is a top priority.

Safeguarding means protecting a person’s health, wellbeing and human rights, and ensuring they are free from harm, abuse or neglect. This includes children and young people, as well as adults who may be vulnerable or at risk.

We believe that:

• Everyone has the right to enjoy tennis safely.
• Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
• Concerns should always be taken seriously and reported promptly.

We align our practices with the LTA’s safeguarding policies and minimum standards, which are designed to protect everyone participating in tennis in the UK.

What to do if you have a concern:

If you see or suspect abuse, neglect, poor practice or anything that might harm someone’s safety:

1. Talk to the  venue’s Welfare or Safeguarding Officer first. If you cannot, or if the concern involves someone within the club, report it directly through the LTA.
2. Report a safeguarding concern: LTA Safeguarding Form
   This form can be completed anonymously if needed.
3. If someone is in immediate danger, call emergency services (999).
